Patiala, October 23 - Ensuring the procurement and lifting of farmers' crops, district Patiala is leading the state in lifting during the current procurement season. Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that lifting of paddy is going on in all 109 mandis by farmers in the district by procurement agencies.
He said that the lifting of Patiala district is more than 45 thousand metric tons daily, it is the highest in the state. The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to help the farmers in every stage of procurement besides ensuring the lifting of the crops on time.
Sakshi Sahni further informed that so far 200677 MT lifting has been done by the procurement agencies in the district, out of which 93607 MT by Pangrain, 41114 MT by Markfed, 43633 MT by PANSP and 22323 MT Ton lifting has been done by Punjab Warehouse Corporation.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the officials to support the farmers throughout the season and maintain this ranking. The Deputy Commissioner said that apart from reviewing the daily procurement process in the district, he is personally monitoring the procurement, lifting and payment process.
