
Traffic Police organised a seminar at Henderson Jubilee Sr. Sec Sukal, Kharar to create awareness against drug abuse and to follow traffic rules
S.A.S.Nagar, 28th February 2025: As per the guidelines given by Shri Deepak Pareek IPS Senior Superintendent of Police District SAS Nagar, Shri Harinder Singh Mann PPS Superintendent of Police Traffic Karnail Singh PPS Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic, under the campaign against drug abuse and awareness towards traffic rules, a seminar was organised today by Henderson Jubilee Sr. Sec Sukal, Kharar, District SAS Nagar to make students aware about the ill effects of drug abuse and to follow traffic rules.
S.A.S.Nagar, 28th February 2025: As per the guidelines given by Shri Deepak Pareek IPS Senior Superintendent of Police District SAS Nagar, Shri Harinder Singh Mann PPS Superintendent of Police Traffic Karnail Singh PPS Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic, under the campaign against drug abuse and awareness towards traffic rules, a seminar was organised today by Henderson Jubilee Sr. Sec Sukal, Kharar, District SAS Nagar to make students aware about the ill effects of drug abuse and to follow traffic rules.
The main message of this seminar was to make school children aware about the ill effects of drug abuse, importance of following traffic rules and going towards sports. During this seminar, school students were made aware that some wrong elements in the society make children addicted to drugs. So be careful of such people while going to college.
Along with this, the students were also told that under section 199A of Motor Vehicles Act, if a child below 18 years of age drives a vehicle, then his parents can be imprisoned for 3 years and fined up to Rs. 25,000 and the person who gives the vehicle to a child below 18 years of age can also be imprisoned for 3 years or fined.
Similarly, if emergency vehicles (ambulance, fire brigade etc.) are not given way, action will be taken under section 194E of Motor Vehicles Act, under which a fine of Rs. 10,000 or imprisonment of up to 6 months can be imposed. Along with this, the students were made aware about the Good Samaritan Award Scheme run by the government and were told that if a person helps an accident victim, then he will be given Rs. 2000 by the government (under Farishte Scheme). On this occasion Principal and other staff of Henderson Jubilee Sr. Sec. Sukal, Kharar, District SAS Nagar thanked DSP Traffic for organizing this seminar on awareness. At the end Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Mr. Karnail Singh PPS motivated all students to move towards sports.
Besides this all students were advised to tell their family members about the knowledge gained from this seminar and educate their family members about not driving under influence of alcohol and at high speed and motivate them to follow traffic rules.
