These inspiring thoughts were expressed by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal while addressing the college students present in the awareness program about drug prevention organized by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department at Government College, Una.
Una, February 20 - Youth is the future of the country and drug addiction is a serious challenge for the young generation and the future of the country, which requires joint efforts from all sections of the society to deal with it. These inspiring thoughts were expressed by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal while addressing the college students present in the awareness program about drug prevention organized by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department at Government College, Una. He said that to prevent the increasing prevalence of drug addiction among the young generation, the district administration is giving priority to activities related to sports and fitness. He called upon the college students to move ahead in life with positive thinking and live in a stress-free environment and avoid bad company in every situation of life. He said that a person can achieve permanent success only through continuous hard work and efforts, hence students should keep making continuous efforts with hard work in their life, only then the set goal can be achieved. He called upon the students to take a pledge to never take drugs in their life and also inspire others about it. He said that all necessary steps are being taken by the government and the district administration to realize the vision of a drug-free society and it will be realized with the cooperation of all sections of the society.
Before this, he formally inaugurated the awareness workshop by lighting the lamp in front of the statue of Mother Saraswati. After that, District Welfare Officer Anita Sharma formally welcomed the chief guest and honored him.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar, psychiatrist expert Dr. Reva Sood, Gunjan Self-help Organization President Vijay Kumar and Shama Self-help Organization President Narendra Kumar also addressed the students present in the program. On this occasion, an entertaining and informative cultural program was also presented by the students of the college, who were awarded by the chief guest at the end of the program.
