Una, February 10: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today reached Goundpur Jaichand in Haroli sub-division of Una district and expressed grief over the demise of Prof. Simmi Agnihotri, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. Prof. Simmi Agnihotri passed away last night.
The Chief Minister participated in the last rites and funeral procession of the mortal remains of Simmi Agnihotri at Deputy Chief Minister's native village Goundpur Jaichand. Deputy Chief Minister's daughter Aastha Agnihotri offered 'mukhagni' to her late mother.
The Chief Minister has prayed to God for peace of the departed soul and for the bereaved family to bear this unbearable loss. He said that the family is deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Simmi Agnihotri and she will always be missed. He said, “I knew Prof. Simmi Agnihotri since my university days, she was a highly educated woman dedicated to social work. Mukesh Agnihotri and his daughter will have to support each other to overcome this grief. May his soul rest in peace. “Our prayers go out to the bereaved family at this sad time.”
