But these days people are not getting drinking water in the villages around the historical area Shri Khuralgarh Sahib. Drinking water is supplied to Habowal, Tabba, Kambala, Sekhowal Sihwan, Harban, Ambedkar Nagar from Sekhowal Water Works.
But for the last three-four days the supply of drinking water has stopped in these villages. Due to which the people of these villages, Ram Saroop, Amarjit Singh, Ram Das, Somnath, Gurmito, Sarjit Kaur, Munshi, Pradeep Singh Sekhowal, Charanjit Singh Tabba, Sukha of village Haibowal said that the villagers are yearning for water. There is a shortage of drinking water in the scorching heat. But due to non-availability of water, they are facing a lot of problems. The villagers told that they have to bring drinking water for their animals from here and there, the people of these villages told that they have not got even a drop of drinking water for the last 3-4 days.
On this occasion, BJP Beet Mandal President Vijay Kumar Billa said that the Punjab government has failed to provide full drinking water to the people of Beet. He said that today people are yearning for drinking water, but there is no one to help them. Vijay Kumar Billa and the villagers warned the government that if their drinking water problem is not resolved soon, they will be forced to take to the streets, for which the government will be responsible.
When SDO Water Supply Garhshankar was called repeatedly regarding this matter, he did not pick up the phone. When his employee was talked to in this regard, he told that there is a problem of water due to the motor being damaged in Haripur Water Works. Which has been repaired today and the motor was not running. After that drinking water will be supplied.
