India will be made child marriage free by making girls educated, safe and empowered: Meena Sharma

Haryana/Hisar: Member of Haryana State Child Rights Protection Commission Meena Sharma said that by educating, protecting and empowering girls, the country will become a child marriage free India. Also, girls can fulfill their dreams. Along with preventing child marriage, education, health and safety have to be ensured for girls. She said that through the campaign, awareness is being raised against child marriage in the society and people are being made aware about its disadvantages.

Member of Haryana State Child Rights Protection Commission Meena Sharma was speaking on Friday in an awareness program organized by Protection Officer and Child Marriage Prohibition Officer, Kurukshetra, District Legal Services Authority Kurukshetra in Government Senior Secondary School, Village Mathana under the Child Marriage Free India Campaign in District Kurukshetra. In this, about 600-700 girls and boys of the school participated in the awareness camp. Mange Ram, Sarpanch of village Mathana Anjana and Sarpanch representative Ravi Kumar were present in the program.
 Protection Officer Kurukshetra Savita Rana made people aware about Domestic Violence Act and Child Marriage Prohibition Act and also conducted an oath program. Girls were made aware about their rights and about Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and cyber vigilance. District Child Protection Officer Kurukshetra Indu Sharma informed the children about POCSO Act and Child Helpline 1098.
 Chairman of District Child Welfare Committee, Kurukshetra Krishna Panchal explained in detail about the rights of children. This program was organized by school Principal Yogesh, teachers Kuldeep Singh, Phool Kumar, Praveen, Kamlesh Kumari, Ram Kumar, Virendra Singh, Neelam Sharma, Poonam, Geeta, Ankur, Sarita Kamboj, Anita Sharma, Sushma Rani, Ashwani Kumar, Neha Madan, and other school staff.
