New Delhi:- The Supreme Court will hear on Friday a petition filed by the CBI Director challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court order that it has violated the Supreme Court's directions by appointing an officer outside the SIT to investigate the allegations of adulterated ghee in the prasad of the Tirumala Tirupati temple.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the CBI Director, before a bench of Chief Justice B. R. Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran, requested that the matter be heard on September 26 instead of 29.
The division bench agreed to list it for Friday.
Let us tell you that High Court Justice Harinath N. said that the SIT formed as per the directions of the Supreme Court, including SIT member J. Venkata Rao was not specifically nominated as an officer representing the state. Therefore, the High Court ruled that J. Venkata Rao cannot be included in the SIT and he cannot conduct the investigation.
