21192 cases disposed of during National Lok Adalat; Total awards worth Rs. 2,01,61,61,712/- passed

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 13: As per the programme sent by National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the National Lok Adalat was organized today under the patronage of Justice Shri Ashwani Kumar Mishra, Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and Justice Shri Mahabir Singh Sindhu, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Administrative Judge, Sessions Division, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, and under the leadership of Shri Atul Kasana, District and Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 13: As per the programme sent by National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the National Lok Adalat was organized today under the patronage of Justice Shri Ashwani Kumar Mishra, Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and Justice Shri Mahabir Singh Sindhu, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Administrative Judge, Sessions Division, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, and under the leadership of Shri Atul Kasana, District and Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar.
This Lok Adalat was set up to deal with criminal cases, cheque bounce cases, bank recovery cases, marital disputes, MACT cases, labour disputes, land acquisition cases, electricity and water bill cases, revenue department related cases and all kinds of civil cases.
For this National Lok Adalat, 17 benches were constituted in the District Court Mohali, headed by Mr. Hardeep Singh, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mrs. Nitika Verma, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Jarnail Singh, Principal Judge, Family Court, Mr. Harsimranjit Singh, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Amanpreet Singh, Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Mr. Rajesh Ahluwalia, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Anish Goyal, Civil Judge (Senior Division), Mrs. Megha Dhaliwal, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division), Mr. Abhay Rajan Shukla, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Kirandeep Singh, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Sangam Kaushal, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Miss Gurleen Kaur, Civil Judge (Junior Division). Division), Smt. Kamal Varinder, Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal, Smt. Gurmeet Kaur, Chairperson, Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar Banur.
Apart from this, 7 benches were constituted at Sub-Division, Derabassi under the leadership of Smt. Navreet Kaur, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division), Smt. Gurpreet Kaur, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Miss Preneet Kaur, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Miss Jasmine, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Miss Dauphin Ghotra, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Amit Gupta, SDM and Tehsildar Derabassi, Kharar under the leadership of Smt. Shweta Das, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Gurmehtab Singh, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Tanveer Singh, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Miss Chahat Chhabra, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Naib Tehsildar Kharar and Naib Tehsildar, Majri.
For this National Lok Adalat, all the courts of Mohali, Derabassi and Kharar kept maximum cases for settlement on the basis of conciliation. All the courts of the district and sub-divisions kept cases for conciliation in the National Lok Adalat with the consent of the various parties and got them settled.
For the success of this National Lok Adalat, Shri Atul Kasana, Honorable District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, had called various meetings from time to time, in which all the judges were encouraged to settle maximum cases in the National Lok Adalat.
The District and Sessions Judge informed the officers of various departments like Banks, Electricity Department, Labor Department and Insurance Companies etc. about this National Lok Adalat and told them that all the cases which can be settled on the basis of conciliation should be placed in this National Lok Adalat.
Mrs. Surbhi Parashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar said that a total of 23469 cases were placed for settlement in this National Lok Adalat today, out of which 21192 cases were settled and awards worth a total of Rs. 2,01,61,61,712/- were passed.
