
Thousands of government aided school teachers and employees of Punjab have not received their salaries for 4 months.
Patiala- Thousands of teachers of government aided (aided) schools affiliated to the Punjab Education Department have not received their salaries for the last four months, while C&V teachers of aided schools have been yearning for their salaries for the last 16 months.

Although the Punjab government talks about an education revolution in the state, thousands of teachers of these schools in the state are not even getting their salaries on time.
Giving this information, Punjab State Government Aided Teachers and Other Employees Union State President Gurmeet Singh Ludhiana, State Secretary Sharanjit Singh Kurali, State President of Pensioner Cell Gurcharan Singh Chahal and State Secretary N.N. Saini said that teachers and other employees of aided schools in the state of the government that claims to be an education revolution are also yearning for their salaries. They also said that the Education Department has stopped the salary grant by issuing unnecessary letters. Thousands of teachers of the state have not received their salaries since March 2025.
Teachers in many districts of Punjab have not been paid their salaries since January 2025, but some schools are still receiving grants for the year 2024. Pensioners who retired from aided schools have not been issued PPO orders even after a long period of retirement. Due to which there is a huge protest against the government among teachers and pensioners.
Union leaders said that the department has not been able to get the annual estimate till now. PPO orders are being issued to retired teachers and employees in the DPI office as per the eye-to-eye deal. Whereas these PPO orders should be issued as per the date of submission of pension file.
The leaders said that due to the non-issuance of salary grants of schools and PPO orders of pensioners by the Education Department, all teachers and pensioners of aided schools will besiege the DPI office on Tuesday, August 12.
If the issue is still not resolved, stricter action will be taken, the responsibility of which will be the Punjab government. The union leaders appealed to Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to hold a panel meeting with the aided schools union to resolve the issues of teachers and pensioners immediately.
On this occasion, Abbot Masih, Ashok Vadera, Hardeep Singh Dhindsa, Jagjit Singh Gujral, Prin Ashwani Madan, Paramjit Singh Gurdaspur, Ravinderjit Puri, Prin Charanjit Sharma Barnala, Ranjit Singh Anandpur Sahib, Sukhinder Singh Hoshiarpur, Amarjit Singh Bhullar, Jaswinder Singh Amritsar, Ajay Chauhan Amritsar, Praveen Kumar Moga, Sahbi Qadian, Sri Kant Bathinda, Monica Sharma, Parminder Singh Nawanshahr, Sandeep Kalia, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Pathania, Baljinder Singh Pannu and other leaders were also present.
