Traffic Police instructed school students to avoid drug abuse and follow traffic rules.

S.A.S.Nagar, 18th July 2025: Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans, Senior Superintendent of Police, District S.A.S.Nagar, Shri Navneet Singh Mahal, Principal Superintendent of Police, Police Traffic conducted an awareness campaign against drug abuse and traffic rules.

S.A.S.Nagar, 18th July 2025: Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans, Senior Superintendent of Police, District S.A.S.Nagar, Shri Navneet Singh Mahal, Principal Superintendent of Police, Police Traffic conducted an awareness campaign against drug abuse and traffic rules. Karnail Singh, Principal Superintendent of Police, Police Traffic organized a special seminar today at G.D. Goenka School, Sector-69 ("GD Goenka School Sector-69"), S.A.S.Nagar to create awareness among students about avoiding drugs and following traffic rules under the below mentioned guidelines.
The main objective of this seminar was to educate school students about the ill effects of drugs, following traffic rules and to make them aware about the importance of sports. During this seminar, school students were explained that due to some wrong answers students get addicted to drugs, so save yourself from such bad consequences.
Also, the students were told that under section 199A of the Motor Vehicles Act, if they are below the age of 18, and a child of this age drives a vehicle, then his parents can be imprisoned for up to 3 years and fined up to Rs 25,000. And any person giving a vehicle to a child below the age of 18 can also be imprisoned for up to 3 years or fined.
Along with this, the Good Samaritan Award Scheme (Good Samaritan Award Scheme) is being run by the government. Information was given and it was told that if a person helps an accident victim, he will be given Rs 2000 by the government (under the Angel Scheme).
On this occasion, G.D.S.P. Traffic Awareness thanked for organizing this seminar. S. Karnail Singh PPS, Deputy Captain Police Traffic finally motivated all the students to play sports. Apart from this, all the students were explained to tell their family members about this as well.
Share the learnings from the seminar and prevent your family members from drinking and getting drunk. Create awareness about not driving at high speed and motivate them to follow traffic rules.
Along with this, school bus drivers were told that they should always operate the school bus at a speed limit set by the government, wear their uniform while driving the school bus, get the school bus checked from time to time, all school buses should have a conductor or an assistant. Proper training should be given to handle small children. Every school bus must have a first aid box and fire extinguisher as per rules.
