Former Cabinet Minister Sohan Singh Thandal gives his views on Ludhiana by-election.

Hoshiarpur- Former Cabinet Minister of Punjab Government and senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) Sardar Sohan Singh Thandal, while giving his views on the upcoming Ludhiana West by-elections, said that whatever the result may be, the love and trust of the people are still inseparable with the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal).

Thandal stressed that the people of Ludhiana, especially the voters of the West constituency, have now become many times more politically conscious than before. He said, "People are clearly seeing how the leadership that has come from Delhi is encroaching on the rights of the people of Punjab. Punjabis will not tolerate this manipulation now."
He blamed the Punjab government for the drug issue and said, "Even though the government makes big claims, the ground reality is that even today, drug abuse has increased a lot in the villages. Youth are dying due to overdose. No appropriate step has been taken so far."
Sardar Thandal appealed to all Punjabis to unite and stand in favor of the Akali Dal (Badal) to make Punjab strong. He praised the party president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal and said, "Sukhbir Singh Badal is working day and night so that the Shiromani Akali Dal can be strengthened again and work for the welfare of Punjab."
This by-election of Ludhiana West is being considered as a bold gesture reflecting the current political climate in Punjab and leaders of all parties are making desperate efforts to woo voters.
