BBMB controversy: Will not tolerate robbery on Punjab’s rights: Bhagwant Mann.

Chandigarh, May 1 – Strongly opposing the BBMB’s decision to release 8,500 cusecs of water to Haryana, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that he will not tolerate robbery on Punjab’s rights. It is noteworthy that the decision to release water to Haryana was taken in a five-hour meeting of the technical committee of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) on Wednesday evening.

Chandigarh, May 1 – Strongly opposing the BBMB’s decision to release 8,500 cusecs of water to Haryana, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that he will not tolerate robbery on Punjab’s rights. It is noteworthy that the decision to release water to Haryana was taken in a five-hour meeting of the technical committee of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) on Wednesday evening.
Sources said that during the BBMB meeting, Punjab government officials expressed strong objection to releasing more water to Haryana and claimed that the neighboring state has already used its share of water. Reacting to the BBMB’s decision, Chief Minister Mann on Thursday strongly opposed the move to give 8,500 cusecs of water to Haryana. He said, “The entire Punjab strongly opposes the decision to give water to Haryana through BBMB, which is the right of Punjab and Punjabis. The BJP government at the Centre and Haryana have united against Punjab. The Chief Minister said in an ex-post, "We will not tolerate another theft of our rights by the BJP at any cost. The BJP should be ready to face opposition. The BJP can never be of Punjab and Punjabis.
