Maur Mandi- AAP government is fully committed to free the residents of Maud from the dirty water of sewerage. Sewerage pipes are being laid by the Punjab government. The statement given by Maud constituency in-charge Janmeja Singh Sekhon in protest against the laying of pipes has now exposed the double face of Shiromani Akali Dal towards the city residents.
These words were expressed by Maud constituency MLA Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal has always adopted the policy of divide and rule and under this policy, an attempt is being made to stop the work of laying sewerage pipes by misleading some people through one of its Sarpanch.
He said that the real root of the sewerage problem of Maud Mandi, Maud Kalan, Maud Khurd is the personal interests of Shiromani Akali Dal, who have not only wasted the government treasury by laying RCC pipes of poor quality without thinking, but have also forced the residents of Maud to struggle with the problem of dirty water for almost a decade.
Now while the Bhagwant Mann led government is spending Rs 23 crore 91 lakh by laying 7 Tata pipes with a service life of 50 years for proper drainage of dirty water, spending Rs 18 crore for sewerage treatment plant so that only treated sewerage water goes to Lasara drain and Rs 22 crore is being spent for clean water supply, but now these development works are not being tolerated by Shiromani Akali Dal and they are trying to spoil the atmosphere by preparing some of their allies under a conspiracy so that the sewerage problem in Maud is not solved and people continue to struggle with the problem of dirty water in this way.
He further said that the Aam Aadmi Party government will never let the wrong intentions of Shiromani Akali Dal succeed. MLA Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana claimed that DC Bathinda had sought consent from those opposing the pipeline to lay the pipe along the railway line, but the Akali Dal supporters deliberately did not allow the issue to be resolved, due to which the department was forced to lay the pipe through government land to Lasara drain.
The MLA said that this pipe has been laid in front of my office located in village Maisarkhana, to which I have not raised any objection, because the pipe has to pass underground and there is no question of its leakage. The residents of the constituency are appealed not to fall into the trap of political parties, because the Aam Aadmi Party government is carrying out development work at a fast pace.
