Mass survey continues for dengue prevention in high-risk areas of the district

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 18: The teams of the District Health Department are vigorously carrying out a comprehensive dengue survey in the high-risk areas of the district.
Giving information in this regard, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain and District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni said that the anti-dengue teams of the Health Department are continuously conducting mass surveys in those areas of the district where relatively more cases of dengue fever were reported last year. 
The purpose of the survey is that this time dengue can be prevented in high-risk areas by taking preventive action. They said that on the instructions of the Punjab Government, the comprehensive survey is being conducted every Monday and Thursday from the month of July. 
Apart from this, every Friday, Dengue Te Var, campaign is also going on continuously, under which general checking is being done by health teams. Dr. Jain said that during the comprehensive survey, along with the inspection, the health teams are also explaining the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment of dengue fever to the people in detail. 
During the survey, containers, pots, coolers, refrigerators, boxes and other items are being checked. He said that the only effective way to avoid dengue is to not let water stagnate at any place. 
Dr. Jain said that the larva of the mosquito that spreads dengue fever takes the form of a dangerous mosquito in a few days, which can also take the life of a person. He said that there is no fixed season for dengue fever, but usually this fever is more from July to the end of November. 
The mosquito that spreads dengue fever bites during the day and breeds in clean water. Dengue testing and treatment is free in government health institutions. For information, the health department's helpline number 104 can be contacted.
