Mahilpur, May 30- Two students Vishwajit Singh and Sarabjit Singh studying in the second semester of B.P.Ed. course in the Physical Education and Sports Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur were specially felicitated by the college principal Dr. Parvinder Singh and the staff for their excellent sports achievements. It is worth mentioning that Vishwajit Singh, a student of the second semester of B.P.Ed., has won three medals in the inter-college university fencing competition.
Of these, he has won gold and bronze medals as team competition and silver medal as individual sports performance. In this sports competition, the fencing team of Khalsa College Mahilpur stood second overall. According to student Vishwajit Singh, on the basis of these sports achievements, he has also been selected for the Khelo India University Games.
Similarly, another student of B.P.Ed. course, Sarabjit Singh, had played his role as a technical referee in the World Cup Kho-Kho competition held in New Delhi recently. Earlier, he had served as a technical referee in the Kho-Kho competition held under Khelo India in Tamil Nadu last year and also as a technical referee in Kho-Kho games at national and university level.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh congratulated the students on this achievement and said that such achievements also make the name of the institution shine in the entire country. Football coach Harinder Sunny, Prof. Charanjit Singh, Prof. Rishabh and weightlifter Amandeep Singh were also present on this occasion.
