
Residents upset over power crisis in Sector 67 hold meeting.
SAS Nagar, May 28 - Residents upset over the severe power supply crisis in Sector 67, Mohali, held a big gathering at the Community Centre under the leadership of IS Parmar and General Secretary of RWA-Jalvayu Vihar Sector 67, Mr. BS Dhillon and severely criticized the present government and power administration.

On the occasion, Ward No. 25 Councilor Manjit Kaur and senior Congress leader Balveer Singh Transporter said that there is a severe power crisis in Sector 67 for the last three days, and despite repeated meetings with senior officials, the power supply is not getting fixed. They said that somewhere the free electricity (free units) being given by the government is responsible for this whole matter, and this free power policy should be stopped.
President of Resident Welfare Association, Mr. NS Kalsi said that due to acute shortage of permanent employees in the power department, it is dependent on daily wage workers. However, this problem is arising due to temporary employees going on strike. He said that the government should pay heed to the demands of the employees, or make some alternative arrangement so that the common people are not troubled.
On this occasion, Jagpal Singh Chhina said that problems like frequent transformer failure, cable fault and overloaded feeders have become common. Power cuts have become a big problem for the residents. He warned that if there is no solution in this regard, we will have to take to the streets. General Secretary of Resident Welfare Association Sector 67, Mr. SK Bugga also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
