Chandigarh:- Chandigarh Municipal Corporation's Tube Operators staged a Dharna near Sector 37 Water Works today and held a special meeting. During the meeting, the untimely deaths of employees during duty and the officers' indifference towards the employees were seriously discussed and a heartfelt tribute was paid to the Tubewell Operator Rajesh Kumar and his younger son while expressing grief over their death.
In the meeting and condolence meeting, Municipal Corporation's Senior Deputy Mayor Jasbir Singh Bunty, Councilor Kanwar Rana, Dilawar Singh Coordination Committee's President Satinder Singh, former Mayor Rajesh Kalia reached and expressed grief over the death of Tubewell Operator Rajesh Kumar and his younger son and assured all the Tubewell Operators that they will bring the agenda of all the Tubewell Operators in the upcoming Municipal Corporation meeting.
On this occasion, Senior Deputy Mayor Jasbir Singh Bunty paid tribute to the late operator Rajesh Sharma and his son Rudraksh by observing a minute's silence.
Jasvir Singh Bunty said that tubewell operators are members of our own family. Because any employee who has been working in the Municipal Corporation for years is the family of our Municipal Corporation and we do not want any employee from our family to be fired. Because if an employee is fired, then the livelihood of his entire family stops.
The head of the coordination committee said that we will sit on a dharna outside the Municipal Corporation in the coming days and the Municipal Councilors will become our voice and raise their voice inside the Municipal Corporation. Kanwar Rana said that we will not allow any employee to be fired. If this happens, then we will not allow any proceedings of the Municipal Corporation after that.
