Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Started with Great Excitement Recently

Hoshiarpur- The Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary Model School, Shimla Pahari, Hoshiarpur started with great enthusiasm recently. The function was inaugurated by lighting a ceremonial lamp after offering floral garlands to the photographs of the founders of the school, Mrs. Jagatwali Sood and Mrs. Sharda Sood.

Hoshiarpur- The Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary Model School, Shimla Pahari, Hoshiarpur started with great enthusiasm recently. The function was inaugurated by lighting a ceremonial lamp after offering floral garlands to the photographs of the founders of the school, Mrs. Jagatwali Sood and Mrs. Sharda Sood.
The school’s Chairman Anurag Sood informed that Vidya Mandir was founded on May 21, 1951 by Mrs. Jagatwali Sood and shortly after this, Mrs. Sharda Sood also joined this noble mission of empowering education. Both these great personalities remained selflessly dedicated to the all-round development of the students throughout their lives, aiming not only for their success but also to instill in them the values of humanity and service to the nation. He made continuous efforts to promote the spirit of patriotism in the society.
On this occasion, the General Secretary of the school, Dr. Harshwinder Singh Pathania, announced that alumni reunion programs would be organized during the historic 75th year of the school. He emphasized that it is our duty to follow the path shown by Mrs. Jagatwali Sood and serve the nation.
Sharing his memories, Avinash Bhandari, a veteran executive member of the Vidya Mandir Committee, said that he has been associated with this school since 1962. He proudly mentioned that many alumni of the school have retired from prestigious positions like Indian Ambassadors, Chief Election Commissioners and Judges. He said that despite being 90 years old, visiting the school brings immense joy to him.
Principal Shobha Rani Kanwar, Sunita Devi, Manisha Joshi, Manmohan Sharma, Vijay Kanwar and social worker Mani Gogia along with teachers associated with the school since its founding also shared their experiences with the students. Prof. Najam Riar, Monica Narang, Kusam Lata, Rekha Rani, Amandeep, Prince Pathania and other dignitaries were also present at the event. Sweets (laddus) were distributed to the students, staff and guests on the occasion.
