
Dairy Farming Training Concludes at Vet Varsity
Ludhiana, 17 May 2025- Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, successfully concluded a two weeks Dairy Farming Training Programme, which drew enthusiastic participation from 43 trainees, including 40 men and 3 women from various districts across Punjab.

Dr. R. S. Grewal, Director of Extension Education, while chairing the valedictory session, emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting the economic development, sustainability, and welfare of livestock farmers and allied businesses.
Highlighting the growing popularity and profitability of dairy farming, he revealed that the university is providing comprehensive information and technical support to those interested in adopting dairy farming as a profession. He lauded the active participation of trainees, and encouraged them to view dairy farming as a viable and sustainable livelihood option.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Course Director and HoD of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, informed that the training programme featured a well-balanced mix of theoretical and practical sessions. The curriculum aimed to impart scientific knowledge and hands-on skills essential for modern dairy farming.
Resource persons covered topics on housing, breeding, nutrition, health management, integrated farming, disease prevention, common diseases, clean milk production, biosecurity, zoonotic diseases and marketing strategies for milk production, and value-added dairy products.
Certificates were awarded to all the participants upon the successful completion of the programme. The event was effectively coordinated by Dr. Jasmine Kaur and Dr. Parteek Singh Dhaliwal.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh informed that the university will organize a five-day Goat Farming Training Programme starting from May 19, 2025, at its Ludhiana campus. Interested individuals are welcome to participate.
