Dr. Ravjot Singh did a surprise inspection, reviewed the cleanliness system of Hoshiarpur city in the morning.

While taking stock of the cleanliness system of the Municipal Corporation during the inspection, he expressed displeasure over the negligence in cleanliness at many places and gave strict instructions to the officials. During this, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, Mayor Surinder Kumar, Backfinco Chairman Sandeep Saini, District Planning Committee Chairperson Karamjit Kaur and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Amandeep Kaur were also present with him.
The Local Bodies Minister started the inspection from a plot located near the Civil Hospital, where heaps of garbage were lying. Taking strict cognizance of this, Dr. Ravjot Singh directed the Municipal Corporation officials to issue notices to the concerned plot owners and give clear instructions not to throw garbage.
He said that such plots are obstructing the cleanliness system of the city, on which immediate action is necessary. He also gave instructions to clean the roadside from Civil Hospital to Prabhat Chowk regularly and make that area a green area. Apart from this, he also stressed on ensuring cleanliness around the labor shed near Ghantaghar and removing encroachment.
While giving instructions to immediately open the closed public toilets, clean them and do regular maintenance, he made it clear that any kind of laxity in providing public facilities will not be tolerated. In the next phase of inspection, Dr. Ravjot Singh visited garbage dump points near Red Road, Shimla Pahari Chak, Government Elementary School Bahadurpur and DAV College.
He took stock of the cleanliness situation at all these places and asked the concerned officials to ensure regular cleaning of these hot spots. While giving instructions to immediately remove the garbage spread on the sides of the roads leading to Indoor Stadium, Vardhman Officer Colony and Gurdwara Shri Zahra Zahoor Sahib, Dr. Ravjot Singh said that making Hoshiarpur city clean, beautiful and organized is the priority of the state government and any kind of negligence in this work will not be tolerated.
On this occasion, MLA Brahmshankar Jimpa also asked the Municipal Corporation officials to run a special campaign to make the city garbage free and to speed up the cleaning of major squares and garbage hotspots. Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjit Chaudhary, Chairman Market Committee Hoshiarpur Jaspal Singh Chechi, Chairman Hoshiarpur Cooperative Bank Vikram Sharma, besides other Municipal Corporation officials were also present on the occasion.
