Una, May 14- Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal on Wednesday visited the Pahal canteen run by the Divyangjans in the old DC office complex and praised the work done there. This canteen is being run especially with the aim of making Divyang children self-reliant and connecting them with the mainstream of the society.

On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner tasted the food prepared by the children and appreciated their hard work, dedication and confidence. He interacted with the canteen management to know their needs and challenges and assured them of providing all possible support.
He directed the BDO Una to ensure timely supply of all the items required for running the canteen so that there is no hindrance in the work. He said that such initiatives not only boost the confidence of the Divyangjans but also strengthen the spirit of equal opportunities in the society.
He said that efforts like Pahal Canteen provide respectable employment to the disabled and inspire them to live a life with self-reliance and self-respect. This initiative is a commendable and inspiring step towards social empowerment in Una district.
