
Hoshiarpur Mandi will be transformed, development works will be done at a cost of Rs 5 crore: MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal.
Hoshiarpur- MP from Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that under the plan to modernize Hoshiarpur Mandi, development works will be done at a cost of Rs 5 crore. Addressing a special meeting with Mandi Board officials and commission agents in the presence of MLA Brahma Shankar Jimpa in this regard, he said that this amount will be spent on improving the infrastructure of the Mandi, convenience of movement and smooth management.

Dr. Chabbewal said that a concrete road will be built in the Mandi, which will eliminate the problems in bringing and taking crops and other goods. He said that keeping in mind the condition of the toilets already built in the Mandi, they will also be improved so that farmers and commission agents do not face any kind of problem. He said that Hoshiarpur Mandi will be included in the most modern and convenient Mandis of Punjab and the government is always committed to protect the interests of farmers and traders.
MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa, while expressing his views, said that separate sheds will be built for products like potatoes and onions in the Mandi, which will benefit the commission agents due to better storage facilities. He said that this demand was being made by the commission agents for a long time, which will now be implemented. The MLA said that the Punjab government is fully committed to improve the basic facilities of the Mandi.
On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Mayor Surinder Kumar Chhinda, Mandi Committee Chairman Jaspal Singh Chechi, Hoshiarpur Central Co-operative Bank Chairman Vikram Sharma Bobby and other officials were also present.
