Una, March 17- Under the National Live Stock Mission, a mega camp was organized at the Veterinary Hospital Basal under the chairmanship of Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Palampur, Dr. Ajay Chaudhary. Apart from the local people, about 90 livestock farmers from the surrounding villages participated in this mega camp and received various important information related to animal husbandry.
On this occasion, Assistant Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Dinesh Parmar informed the livestock farmers about various schemes being run through the department and motivated them to adopt animal husbandry as a business.
Veterinary Officer Basal Dr. Deepika Bharti Joshi said that in the mega camp, free birth rate control operations of 10 dogs were done and 30 dogs were given free anti-rabies vaccine. Also, tonic and other necessary medicines for animals were distributed free of cost to the livestock farmers present in the camp.
He said that the purpose of organizing the mega camp is to increase the income of livestock farmers by connecting them with modern animal husbandry techniques and government schemes. Such awareness camps will be organized by the department in future also so that animal keepers can get maximum benefit. Apart from this, animal keepers were given detailed information about various methods of identification and treatment of reproductive problems and infertility in animals.
During this, veterinary officer and surgeon Dr. Manoj, Dr. Anoop Rutwal, Dr. Nishant, Dr. Shilpa, Dr. Radhika, Dr. Deepshikha and employees of Animal Hospital Basal were present.
