Pakistan violates ceasefire in Baramulla, Kupwara and Akhnoor sectors.

Srinagar, April 29 - Pakistani troops have again violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said that Pakistani security forces resorted to unprovoked firing from across the border in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district. This is the fifth consecutive night of unprovoked firing by Pakistan amid the strained relations between the two countries after the Pahalgam terror attack last week, which claimed 26 lives.

Military officials said that on the intervening night of April 28 and 29, "Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in Kupwara and Baramulla districts as well as in Akhnoor sector." They said that Indian security forces gave a befitting reply to this firing.
People living in the border areas are in a state of panic due to the escalating conflict between the two countries. A local resident of Uri sector in north Kashmir said that people are hopeful that the situation will not get worse.
