
Information given to nursing students about dengue prevention

Addressing, Dr. Arun Bansal said that dengue is a deadly fever, to prevent which water should not be allowed to accumulate at any place.

Addressing, Dr. Arun Bansal said that dengue is a deadly fever, to prevent which water should not be allowed to accumulate at any place.
He said that if due to any reason dengue fever occurs, there is no need to panic. The patient should be taken to a government health institution, where the examination and treatment of dengue is absolutely free. The patient should consume as much liquid as possible such as water, juice, lemonade, coconut water etc. and should take rest. Symptoms of Dengue Fever
Dengue is a fever caused by the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquito. Common symptoms of dengue include severe headache and high fever, muscle and joint pain, pain behind the eyes, bleeding from nose, mouth and gums in severe cases, nausea and vomiting etc. Mosquitoes that spread dengue breed in clean stagnant water such as coolers, water tanks, flower pots, trays behind refrigerators, broken/abandoned utensils and empty tyres and water drums etc. Water should not be allowed to collect in these.
