Garshankar, April 16 - Strongly condemning the printing of names of children only in English on the fifth class examination certificates issued by the State Council of Educational Research and Training Punjab, State Joint Secretary of Democratic Teachers Front Punjab Mukesh Kumar, District President Sukhdev Dancewal, District Secretary Inder Sukhdeep Singh Odra said that the fascination of English by the institutions related to the education department is not ending and the Punjab State Language Act is being openly violated.
He said that if educational guidance institutions like the State Council of Educational Research and Training Punjab will also follow the instructions issued by the Language Department Punjab regarding the use of Punjabi language, then what can be expected from other institutions? Giving information in this regard, he said that the names of children and their parents are printed in English on the class 5 examination certificates issued by the State Council of Educational Research and Training Punjab, whereas in the past years these have been printed in both Punjabi and English languages.
He said that this is happening when the Education and Language Minister of Punjab holds a press conference and expresses his commitment towards the Punjabi language. Whereas in reality 'whatever the head of the Panchayat says, the head of the Panchayat is right, the head of the Panchayat is right'. Recently, the Central CBSE Board also refused to give Punjabi a place in the regional languages, which was widely opposed and CBSE had to issue a correction letter.
The leaders alleged that all this is being done under the policy of ignoring regional languages ??under the National Education Policy-2020, in implementing which the Aam Aadmi Party government seems to be in more hurry than the central government. For the sake of appearance, the Education Minister and other government representatives show great contempt towards the Punjabi language, while in front of their eyes, educational institutions are ignoring the Punjabi language and they are letting all this happen by closing their eyes.
The DTF leaders demanded that no leniency should be given to the concerned departments for such mistakes committed by the educational institutions of Punjab and the officers committing such mistake should be fined and the mistake should be rectified at their own expense.
