41 units of blood collected during the blood donation camp organized on the occasion of World Red Cross Day

Hoshiarpur - A blood donation camp was organized by the District Red Cross Society under the chairmanship and leadership of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal on the occasion of World Red Cross Day at Fortune Park Hotel Chauhal, during which 41 units of blood were collected. He said that today is celebrated all over the world in connection with the birthday of the founder of the Red Cross, Sir Jean Henry Duna. He founded the Red Cross Society for social service. The Red Cross Society is operating in 192 countries of the world and serving humanity. He said that the District Red Cross Society also has many welfare projects like Vocational Training Centre, Crèche Centre, Homeopathic Dispensary, MCH Centre, Jan Aushadhi Store, 'Wing Project' for special children and common kitchen project etc. are being run He appealed to the general public and the officials of Fortune Hotel to give maximum contribution to the public welfare schemes being conducted by the District Red Cross Society. They distributed medals, certificates and plants to the blood donors.
District Red Cross Society Secretary Mangesh Sood said that the theme of 'Keeping Humanity Alive' was given by Punjab State Branch Chandigarh in connection with the celebration of World Red Cross Day. Under which blood donation camps and medical check-up camps are being organized by the Red Cross. He said that recently, with the support of Punjab Roadways, a huge blood donation camp was organized at bus stand Hoshiarpur, in which 101 units of blood were collected. After this, a medical check-up camp was organized at the Red Cross office in the first week of May 2024, in which problems like diabetes, cholesterol and thyroid were checked by taking blood samples of employees and students. Red Cross organized these two blood donation camps and collected 142 units of blood.
On this occasion, Red Cross Executive Member Rajeev Bajaj, Counselor Employment Office Aditya Rana, Accountant Red Cross Sarabjit, General Manager Rajeev, HR Manager Damini Sood, Chief Security Officer Lakhveer Singh, Executive Chef Pratap Singh besides Red Cross staff and Fortune Park Hotel staff was present.
