
Eyes donated by one person bring light to two dark lives: Sanjeev Arora.
Hoshiarpur- Rotary Eye Bank and Cornea Transplant Society organised an eye donation awareness camp at Guru Nanak Dev College of Education Dallewal under the patronage of President and prominent social worker Sanjeev Arora, which was presided over by Vice Principal Madam Pushpinder Kaur. Society Chairman J.B. Bahl was specially present on this occasion.

Addressing the students and staff on this occasion, President Sanjeev Arora informed them about the process of eye donation and getting eye donation after death and said that if any of your loved ones dies, then you just have to call any member of the society, the members of the society, specialist doctors will reach your house with their team, where the death has occurred and the process of eye donation is completed within just 15-20 minutes, which does not affect the face.
Mr. Arora said that eyes can be donated within 6-10 hours and eyes donated by one person bring light in the dark lives of two people. Arora appealed to the students to go to their homes and make their parents as well as the people of the locality aware about eye donation and become a part of the virtue themselves.
He said that a person who has not filled the eye donation affidavit can also donate eyes. Chairman J.B. Bahl, while making people aware about the newly made driving law, said that whenever a person used to apply for a driving license in a European country, it was mandatory for him to fill the column for organ donation as per the new law made there.
Following this, this law has been implemented in India also due to the efforts of Rotary Eye Bank. Mr. Bahl appealed to the students that whenever they get their driving license made or renewed, they must fill the column for organ donation and give their consent by saying yes, so that they can also become a part of this noble deed.
On this occasion, Secretary Principal D.K. Sharma presented a poem on eye donation "Main Andha Hoon, Roshni Nahi Hai, Dharti Se Aasman Nahi Hai", which won everyone's heart. Vice Principal Madam Pushpinder Kaur praised the work of the society and said that providing light to a blind person is the biggest act of charity and said that she will keep making students and staff aware about eye donation from time to time so that efforts can be made to eliminate blindness from the country as soon as possible.
On this occasion, Principal D.K. Sharma, Veena Chopra, Madan Lal Mahajan, Jasvir Kanwar, Renu Kanwar, Krishna Kishore, Ashwani Dutta and from the college, Meenal, Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Monica Mahajan, Jasvir Saini, Priya, Neeru Bala, Maninderjit Kaur, Arun Kumar, Kuldeep Kaur, Priya Devi, Neeti Rani, Gurpreet Kaur, Kulwant Kaur, Ranju Bal, Ramandeep Kaur, Sushasan and others were present.
