SAS Nagar, April 8: Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his comrades and birthday of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution were observed during a meeting organised by Resident Welfare and Development Committee Sector 78 under the chairmanship of Krishna Mitra.

On the occasion, the keynote speaker Dr Harish Puri said about Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Dr BR Ambedkar that reverence for them should not be limited to only putting up their photographs and garlanding them, but we need to follow their ideas. He said that we should try to keep up by carrying forward the evils in society against which they stood and fought. He said that along with economic independence, social justice and freedom are also necessary.
On the occasion, prominent artists Bhupinder Matoria, Joga Singh Tarkashil, Gurmel Singh Mojowal, Krishna Rahi, Gurinder Gurri, Kamaljit Kaur, Raman Goyal, etc. presented revolutionary songs. Along with this, young children Sukhman Singh, Kirat Singh, Chahaljot Singh, Amreen Kaur, Hayanbir etc. also presented songs and skits in the program. The responsibility of stage secretary was performed by the senior leader of the committee, Principal Jagdev Singh Mavi.
