While interacting with students and their parents at Lalru Government Senior Secondary Smart School today under the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting, he said that there was a time when no attention was paid to government schools in the state, but after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government, all the emphasis was given on education and health reforms.
As a result of this, today School of Eminence, School of Happiness are engaged in shaping the future of students. He said that today's government schools are beating private schools. On this occasion, he also felicitated Ankit Saini, son of Jaswant Singh, a student who had left school in class 11 from commerce stream. He also inspected the ongoing construction work in the school along with school principal Dimpy Virk.
MLA Randhawa said that this is the first time in Punjab that parent-teacher meetings are being organised in schools at the government level and the elected representatives of the people are visiting the schools themselves. Be it an MLA or a minister or the Chief Minister. Everyone is very concerned about the people of Punjab.
He said that in the coming days, he will visit all the schools in the Derabassi constituency and take stock of the deficiencies found there and get them resolved.
