
Farmers should be advised to refrain from selling other non-essential items while selling DAP and other phosphatic fertilizers - Chief Agriculture Officer
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 13, 2024: Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurmail Singh said that a special campaign is being run against black marketing and hoarding of DAP fertilizer in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district. So that farmers do not face any problem in getting DAP fertilizer as per their requirement. He said that for this, teams are checking the shops from time to time. He said that instructions have also been issued to the fertilizer sellers. That the quantity and price of the fertilizer in stock should be written on the fertilizer stock board of the shop every day.

So that farmers do not face any problem in getting DAP fertilizer as per their requirement. He said that for this, teams are checking the shops from time to time. He said that the wheat crop requires phosphorus nutrient, to meet which farmers use DAP fertilizer at the time of sowing.
He said that Kisan fertilizer and triple super phosphate fertilizer, single super phosphate and other phosphatic fertilizers can also be used as an alternative to DAP fertilizer. He said that Triple Super Phosphate contains 46% phosphorus element like DAP and its price is Rs. 1250-1300/- per bag. While the price of DAP is Rs. 1350/- per bag. He said that farmer's manure can also be used as an alternative to DAP.
He instructed the fertilizer vendors to clear the stock of sold fertilizer present in POS machines and ensure that the stock of unsold fertilizer in POS machines and shops is consistent so that DAP fertilizer can be obtained from the Government of India as per the requirement. He also instructed all the dealers to keep their licenses and other necessary documents complete and no negligence should be done in this regard.
He said that whatever agricultural inputs are sold to the farmers by the dealers, a fixed bill should be given and only the required inputs should be sold to the farmers and no other unnecessary items should be given to the farmers. He said that during the checking, if any shopkeeper is found selling fertilizer, medicine or seeds without a bill, then legal action will be taken against him under the Fertilizer Control Order 1985. He also appealed to the farmers that while buying fertilizer, pesticide chemicals or seeds, they must take the bill from the shopkeeper and if any dealer refuses to give the bill, then they should file a written complaint with the concerned Agriculture Officer or Chief Agriculture Officer.
