New Delhi, March 18- The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day amid uproar by opposition members after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement on Mahakumbh in the Lok Sabha. They were demanding a discussion on the Prime Minister's statement and mentioning the deaths in the stampede in it.

According to parliamentary sources, the opposition parties were demanding a discussion on Mahakumbh so that their members could share their views on the subject. Due to the uproar, the House was adjourned till 1 pm. When the House reconvened, the opposition started protesting in the middle of the House, due to which the Chairman had to adjourn the proceedings for the whole day.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had said about Mahakumbh that it has strengthened the unity of the country. And has given a befitting reply to those who questioned India's ability to host such a grand event. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, he said that the success of the Mahakubh was the result of the contribution made by the government and countless people from the society.
He said, 'We have always said that unity in diversity is the specialty of India and we have experienced this in the Mahakubh in Prayagraj.' He said that the chanting of 'Har Har Gange' by people speaking different languages ??and dialects on the banks of the Sangam gave a glimpse of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' which further strengthened the spirit of unity.
