Paradeep, March 4- A 21-year-old boy killed his parents and sister on Tuesday morning in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district because they used to stop him from playing online games. Superintendent of Police Bhavani Sankar Udgata said that the incident took place at around 3 am at Jayabada Sethi Sahi under Jagatsinghpur police station area. The boy used a stone or any other hard object to attack his parents and sister on the head.
Jagatsinghpur police station in-charge Prabhas Sahu said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused Surajkant Sethi used to stop his parents and sister from playing online games on mobile phones, due to which he was angry with them.
The deceased have been identified as Prashant Sethi alias Kalia (65), his wife Kanakalta (62) and daughter Roselyn (25). The SP said, “After the incident, Surajkant Sethi hid near the village and was later arrested.” The youth is suspected to have a mental problem, the official said.
The villagers claimed that Surajkant confessed to them that he had killed his parents. Another official said that a police team led by the SP and a scientific team reached the spot and started investigation. He said that the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
