1 March Nawanshahr- A written agreement has been signed between the local social service organization Upkar Coordination Society and Doaba Sikh National Senior Secondary School management regarding the training program plan for self-reliance of girls. The meeting was chaired by JS Gidda and conducted by Principal Parvinder Singh Jassomajra.
According to this, the school will provide building services and the society will provide machines and instructor services. A joint committee has been formed in this regard, in which Principal Parvinder Singh Jassomajra and Manager Lehmbar Singh Kishanpura, S. Harvinder Singh have been included from the school management.
While Madam Surjit Kaur Dulku, Madam Rajinder Kaur Toor and Madam Jyoti Bagga have been included from the society, who will hold meetings from time to time to implement the rules and will be authorized to monitor the training.
Initially a course of cutting and stitching will be started which will be of three months duration and will be based on twenty girls/women. Candidates can collect the form from the school and submit it. At the beginning of the meeting silent tribute was paid to the late personalities Md. Kulwant Singh Gill, Baba Ajit Singh Alachaur, S. Kuljit Singh Dilbar and S. Ajit Singh Mahil.
Upkar Society decided to celebrate a program dedicated to International Women's Day on 7th March. The annual aid distribution function of "Ek Noor Swayamsevak Sanstha Pathlawa" was appreciated in the meeting and it was decided to participate in it.
