Patiala, February 27- To further intensify the fight against drug abuse, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh held a high-level meeting with district officials including all SDMs and DSPs of the district. While reviewing the campaign being run against drug abuse in the meeting, Dr. Preeti Yadav said that SDMs and DSPs should prepare a plan at the sub-division level to run this campaign more effectively.
ADC Isha Singal was also present on the occasion. During the meeting, Dr. Preeti Yadav directed the SDMs and DSPs to visit the rehabilitation centers and OAT centers of their sub-divisions and said that a report should be sent to the Deputy Commissioner's office about the facilities, medicines, staff and other necessary needs being provided to the patients in the centers.
Dr. Preeti Yadav directed the officials to organize awareness camps in villages and cities. He directed to run more skill development courses in rehabilitation centers with the aim of including people who have given up drug addiction in the mainstream of society. SSP Dr. Nanak Singh said that people's cooperation is necessary to end drug addiction. Therefore, joint efforts are being made by the civil and police administration to break the supply line of drugs and eliminate the demand by taking people along.
