Hoshiarpur 27 February- World Ultra Cycling organized the first cross country 1044 kilometer long race, which started from India Gate in Delhi and entered Nepal via Haryana, UP, Uttaranchal and ended in Kathmandu. In which 7 cyclists from different parts of the country participated, Hoshiarpur's international cyclist Balraj Singh Chauhan, ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur also participated and finished the race before time and secured first place. On reaching Kathmandu, Deputy Speaker of Nepal's House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar honored him.
Giving information about this, he said that the main objective of this race was to give the message of clean environment, plastic free and world peace. During this, we had to pass through very high hills, winding paths and dangerous forests. He told that there was no road marking on the under construction National Highway for about 150 km, rather it was a hilly path, due to which we had to cycle on mud and stones. Although I have cycled in various parts of India and abroad in England, Canada, France etc., but this Delhi Kathmandu race was a different experience.
Various cycling clubs honored us on the way. In Kathmandu, Rotary International 3292 Nepal organized a grand ceremony at the hotel and honored all the cyclists by giving certificates, in which Miss Nepal Ashma Kumari KC also participated. It is worth mentioning that Balraj Chauhan has brought laurels to Hoshiarpur in the country and abroad by cycling 1 lakh 74 thousand kilometers so far.
Chauhan has been honored at different times by the district administration and other organizations for his cycling achievements on the occasion of Independence Day. During this race, senior cyclist Dr. Pawan Dhingran, Madam Megha Jain, Ludhiana, Sanjeev Ratan from Delhi, Naval Commander Dilip from Karnataka, Supreme Court lawyer Sanjeev Jain from Noida, dentist Dr. Nilesh from Raipur, organizer Jaspreet Ghatora, Anil Ratan were present with him.
