Hoshiarpur, February 25 - Hoshiarpur Nature Fest-2025, organized with the aim of giving new dimensions of tourism to Hoshiarpur district, had a very exciting day. Today, Forest Officer Northern Circle Dr. Sanjeev Tiwari flagged off the off-roading team for Kuknet and Dehriyan from Lajwanti Sports Stadium. During this, SDM Tanda Pankaj Kumar was also present with him.
During this time, while tourists and adventure sports lovers got a wonderful experience of trekking in Dehriyan, they also enjoyed the enchanting views of Thana Dam. Adventure sports lovers participating in the program enjoyed the off-roading trails and admired the natural beauty. Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that Hoshiarpur has unlimited possibilities of tourism. The natural resources, vast forest area and historical heritage here can make it a major tourist center.
He said that the district administration and the forest department are committed to develop it as a world-class tourist destination. He said that the administration will make every possible effort to make Hoshiarpur a leading district in the field of tourism. He said that the main objective of Hoshiarpur Nature Fest is also to give world-class recognition to the beauty of this constituency and to give it an important place on the tourism map.
Forest Conservator North constituency Dr. Sanjeev Tiwari said that Hoshiarpur has the largest forest area in Punjab which makes it an ideal place for natural tourism. He said that promoting local tourists will increase the income of rural areas and their standard of living will improve. He said that the planned development of tourist places like Kukanet, Dehriyan, Thana Dam will provide employment opportunities to the local youth on a large scale.
He said that various schemes are being prepared to promote tourism. This includes plans to develop modern facilities for tourism, new options for adventure tourism and sustainable tourism infrastructure. He said that the government and the district administration are trying to link the tourism industry with the economic development of the local people.
This will also promote hotels, guides, adventure sports, local handicrafts and agriculture based tourism activities. He appealed to the local people to participate in tourism activities and cooperate in developing his constituency as a tourist hub.
