Sir Chaman Singh (Project Director), while addressing the villagers, first told about the life of Bhai Ghanaiya, the establishment of Red Cross. He said that drug addiction is now a big problem all over the world. While youth all over the world are going towards drugs, in recent times girls are also getting into the quagmire of drugs. Young youths are getting attracted to drugs knowingly or unknowingly. Today, children studying in schools are also getting trapped in drug addiction. The youth of Punjab are getting trapped in drug addiction by injecting heroin more and more. Due to which the future of the youth of Punjab is in danger. We need to pay special attention to our children who are studying in schools. We also need to make the elder youth aware about drug addiction. So that the youth can stay away from drugs. The de-addiction campaign should be started from our homes itself. He said that many people also start resorting to drugs due to problems in life, which proves to be very dangerous for our physical and mental health. We break down financially and socially. This habit is causing the death of youth. Therefore, drug addiction is not the solution to any problem. Let your children connect with the lives of great men. He also answered the questions asked in the meeting.
Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Councilor) also gave detailed information about the treatment of patients at the Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Victims, Nawanshahr and told that any drug addict can stay in the hospital for a month as per his wish and get free treatment. Since drug addiction cannot be given up by staying at home, it is necessary to contact psychiatrists and de-addiction centers to give up drug addiction.
