
Republic Day Rehearsal; DC and SSP inspect full dress rehearsal at Government College Mohali

SAS Nagar, January 24, 2024: Punjab Mining & Geology, Water Resources, Soil & Water Conservation Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal will hoist the National Flag at Shaheed Major (Shaurya Chakra) Harminder Pal Singh Government College Stadium, Mohali on January 26, 2025 to commemorate the 76th Republic Day.
Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain, after reviewing the full dress rehearsal along with SSP Deepak Pareek, informed that the district administration and police are fully prepared for the Republic Day celebrations. To make this function of national importance a success, strict security arrangements have been made by the district police.
She also inspected the parade and march past. Led by Parade Commander DSP Preet Kanwar Singh, the march past was attended by three platoons of police (including one platoon of women police), five platoons of NCC cadets and school bands of two schools.
Around 1586 students from 14 schools and one college of the district presented a grand programme full of patriotic fervour. During the cultural programmes, students enthusiastically performed with various dance songs, choreography and other activities based on patriotic themes. Students from School of Eminence Phase-11, Mohali, School of Eminence Phase-3B1, Mohali, Sant Ishar Singh Public School Mohali, Apeejay School Mundi Kharar, Lawrence Public School Mohali, Gilco International School Kharar, Swami Ram Tirath School Mohali and Government Primary School Phase 3B1, Mohali. The contingents participating in the parade included NCC cadets of Government College Mohali, Shivalik School Phase-6 Mohali, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Kurali, Laxmi Tara Rathore School Sialba Mazri, Mata Sahib Kaur Public School Swara and band teams of Government Girls Senior Secondary School Sohana and School of Eminence 3B1, Mohali.
After inspecting the full dress rehearsal, the Deputy Commissioner issued necessary directions to various departments engaged in the arrangements to make the Republic Day celebrations a success. He said that preparations for this mega event are going on in full swing and every effort would be made to ensure that the day of national importance is celebrated with full patriotic and nationalistic fervour. The Deputy Commissioner further said that any reluctance in duty on the part of the officers who have been assigned duty in connection with this event would be inappropriate and undesirable.
