
Famous short story writer Preet Neetpuri honoured with Mann Kaur Award
Mahilpur 14 February- Famous short story writer Preet Neetpuri hailing from Neetpur village near Mahilpur, a famous town of Doaba, has been honoured with the 25th Mann Kaur Memorial Short Story Award by the Central Punjabi Short Story Writer Forum Patiala. The literary, educational, cultural and social institutions of the region have congratulated her on receiving this honour.
Mahilpur 14 February- Famous short story writer Preet Neetpuri hailing from Neetpur village near Mahilpur, a famous town of Doaba, has been honoured with the 25th Mann Kaur Memorial Short Story Award by the Central Punjabi Short Story Writer Forum Patiala. The literary, educational, cultural and social institutions of the region have congratulated her on receiving this honour.
On this occasion, Nikkiya Karumbalan editor Baljinder Mann said that we are very proud of Preet Neetpuri and her family whose stories are included in the syllabus of Delhi University and Kurukshetra University. Till now she has given three short story collections to Punjabi literature. The story collections "Daari Mein Guche Hanjhu", "Haunka Hanjhu Te Muskaan", "Kudi Te Kavita" got a lot of respect and recognition.
The story being created by you not only tells the bitter truth but also challenges the rulers of that time. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Principal of Khalsa College Mahilpur, said that Preet Neetpuri has created international level stories despite being born in an ordinary family.
Those who saluted his creation include Dr. Jaswant Rai, Madan Veera, Dr. Sanwal Dhami, Dr. Shamsher Singh Mohi, Raghuveer Singh Kaloya, Principal Surinder Pal Singh Pardesi, Krishnajit Rao Kandowal, Suhail Gandhi, Jagjit Singh Ganeshpur, Babbu Mahilpuri, Ramesh Beddrak, Ashok Puri, Resham Chitrakar, Dr. Jung Bahadur Sekhon, etc.
