Upkar Society will celebrate Lohri of newborn daughters in collaboration with social welfare organizations

In this encouraging environment, a special meeting of Upkar Society has made a program to celebrate Lohri in collaboration with various social welfare organizations like every year. The above decision was taken in a meeting held in the local Giran Bhawan under the chairmanship of Pradhan JS Gidda.

In this encouraging environment, a special meeting of Upkar Society has made a program to celebrate Lohri in collaboration with various social welfare organizations like every year. The above decision was taken in a meeting held in the local Giran Bhawan under the chairmanship of Pradhan JS Gidda.
President Parvinder Singh Jassomajra, while conducting the proceedings of the meeting, said that the society will participate in the Lohri programs organized by Ek Noor Voluntary Organization Pathlawa, P.S.T.S. Gidda Welfare Society Sujon, Sadh Sangat Simbli and Channi Resort Rahon. On this occasion, an appeal was made to every section of the society that son and daughter are equal, so both should be given equality in their happiness and opportunities for progress. This year Lohri of newborn girls is being celebrated in villages Ladhana Uncha, Emma Jattan, Padddi Math, Simbli, Padddi Posi, Suranpur, Pathlawa, Sujoun and Rahon.
On this occasion, Madam Harbans Kaur, the office bearer of the society invited the members to attend the Lohri program of her granddaughter, which was accepted by the members. The proposal of Mr. Narinder Singh Bharta to organize seminars in educational institutions was accepted unanimously. A joint program with the Management Committee of Doaba Sikh National Senior Secondary School for the purpose of training program for self-employment of girls was approved through a resolution.
Vote of thanks was passed by PSTS Gidda Welfare Society Sujoun, Joga Singh Sadhra, GS Toor, Surjit Kaur Dulku, Dr. Ajay Bagga, Principal Bikramjit Singh for providing sewing machines for the training program. On this occasion, J.S. Gidda, Surjit Kaur Dulku, Principal Parwinder Singh Jassomajra, Birbal Khinchi, Des Raj Bali, Ma. Narinder Singh Bharta, Joga Singh Sadhra, Narinderpal Toor, Dr. Avtar Singh, Principal Bikramjit Singh, Harbans Kaur, Jyoti Bagga, Rajinder Kaur Gidda, Palwinder Kaur Badwal, Shama Malhan and Paramjit Singh were present.
