Bibi Inderjit Kaur, a resident of Phase-2, said that the administration was informed about the nuisance caused by monkeys in the houses over the phone, but it seems that the department is waiting for some big accident. Pushpa Devi and Baljinder Kaur, residents of Phase-2, have also been attacked and injured by these monkeys. She said that the monkeys come inside their house in the morning itself and it has become difficult for the family to leave the house. She said that one day, when the door of the house was opened while cleaning, suddenly the monkey entered the house and until the monkey left the house, the entire family remained in an atmosphere of terror.
She said that the district administration was informed about the nuisance caused by the said monkeys over the phone, but so far there has been no solution to this issue. She has demanded from the Deputy Commissioner Mohali to solve this problem soon.
When contacted, the wildlife department official said that monkeys have been removed from the list of animals under the wildlife department and now action regarding them should be taken by the Municipal Corporation. When contacted, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. T. Benith said that he was not aware of this. He said that he would get it investigated and necessary action would be taken in this regard.
