
Information about government schemes was given to the people through street plays
Una, December 19- Cultural groups affiliated to the Department of Information and Public Relations on Thursday made people aware of the welfare schemes being run for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes as well as public welfare policies, schemes, achievements and drug prevention through songs, music and street plays in Batuhi, Kuriyala, Gagret Upper and Dangoh Khurd.
Una, December 19- Cultural groups affiliated to the Department of Information and Public Relations on Thursday made people aware of the welfare schemes being run for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes as well as public welfare policies, schemes, achievements and drug prevention through songs, music and street plays in Batuhi, Kuriyala, Gagret Upper and Dangoh Khurd.
During this, the artists of RK Kalamanch made people aware in Gagret Upper and Dangoh Khurd that the provisions of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Prevention Act 1989 are being effectively implemented to remove the practice of untouchability in the society, under which the department provides an incentive of 50 thousand rupees for inter-caste marriages. With a view to empowerment of women, a total of 30,929 women have been benefited so far under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Artists of Poorvi Kalamanch told the people in Batuhi and Kuriyala that the state government is running 11 old age homes, 22 day care centers and 07 senior citizen facilities centers in the state through government/non-government organizations to take care of helpless elderly people who do not have their own home and who have no one to take care of them. The government has made a provision of a budget of Rs 5 crore to provide computer training to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes/OBC and Minority Classes, single women, widows and disabled people.
In this series, on 20th December, people will be made aware through cultural programs in villages Ladoli and Bhawaran Kandrohi of Chintpurni assembly constituency, village Jakhera of Una assembly constituency and Bhadasali village of Haroli assembly constituency. On the fourth day of this campaign, cultural art groups will organize programs in villages Ambtilla and Chowki of Chintpurni assembly constituency and villages Kungrat and Khadd Khas of Haroli assembly constituency on 21st December.
On 22nd December, programs will be organized in villages Saloh and Dulahad Upper of Haroli assembly constituency, village Pirthipur of Gagret assembly constituency and village Ghanghret of Chintpurni. While on the sixth and last day of the campaign, on 23rd December, people will be entertained and informed about the schemes being run in public interest through songs, music and dramas in villages Pansai, Boul, Mohkhas and Paroiya of Kutlehar assembly constituency.
