Punjabi University launches two courses for capacity building of teachers

Patiala, December 10: Two refresher courses have been started today by the UGC Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre at Punjabi University with the aim of building the capacity of teachers. The director of the centre, Prof. Raman Maini, said that the first course is related to Life Sciences, while the second is related to online Mock Courses.

The director of the centre, Prof. Raman Maini, said that the first course is related to Life Sciences, while the second is related to online Mock Courses.
He said that both the courses are being conducted through offline mode. He said that the inaugural session held at the beginning of both the courses was attended by Prof. Mini Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Dr. Regina Maini, Senior Medical Officer from Bhai Ghanaiya Health Centre as the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mini Singh talked about the relevance of Life Sciences subjects and highlighted the importance of refresher courses in this regard. He said that these courses not only increase knowledge but also open the way for many academic partnerships due to the interaction between different faculty members. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Regina Maini said that through these courses, faculty members from different institutions across India come together on one platform and get a wonderful opportunity to learn from each other.
He said that we need to broaden our perspective on learning. By doing so, we can learn a lot more. On this occasion, Prof. Himendra Bharti, Coordinator of the course related to Life Sciences, and Daljit Ami, Coordinator of the refresher course related to MOOCs online courses, spoke about the format and purpose of their respective courses.
