
Additional Secretary of the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation visits Mohali district.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 23: Additional Secretary and Mission Director (Nal Se Jal Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission) of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, Shri Kamal Kishore Son visited Mohali district today. He reviewed the work being done under Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural).
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 23: Additional Secretary and Mission Director (Nal Se Jal Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission) of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, Shri Kamal Kishore Son visited Mohali district today. He reviewed the work being done under Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural).
During his visit, Shri Son first inspected the Liquid Waste Management (Thapar Model) Project in village Nangal Garhian, Block Majri. He interacted with the officials and villagers and got information about the new initiatives being taken for waste water disposal at the village level.
On this occasion, Chief Engineer (South), J.J. Goyal, Director Sanitation (WSS Punjab), Manoj Malhotra, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) S.A.S. Nagar Sonam Chaudhary, SDM Kharar Smt. Divya P and Executive Engineer Division No. 3 Mohali, Ramanpreet Singh were also present.
After this, he reviewed the water scheme with house-to-house tap connections in village Fatehgarh, Block Majri. Under this scheme, a tubewell was installed in the year 2022 at a cost of Rs. 19.01 lakh. He appreciated the Gram Panchayat Water Supply Committee, which has been successfully running this scheme since 2010 and is continuously providing safe drinking water to the villagers.
Shri Son appreciated the contribution of Water Supply and Sanitation Department Punjab and local Gram Panchayats in taking forward the Jal Jeevan Mission and solid and liquid waste management and said that the Government of India is fully committed to providing safe water and better sanitation services to every household in every village.
