Garhshankar - On the occasion of 555th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a Nagar Kirtan was taken out from Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Darbar Sahib Ji, Village Rampur Bilro, dedicated to the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji; on Wednesday, 13 November, under the leadership of Panch Pyaras. A large number of devotees participated in this huge Nagar Kirtan and chanted Satnam Waheguru.
This Nagar Kirtan started from Guru Ghar and passed through various places and ended at Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Darbar Sahib Ji. Similarly, on Friday, 15 November, Akhand Paath Sahib was organized in Guru Ghar and after the Bhog, Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khalsa Garhshankar expressed his devotion by chanting Guru Jas and made the devotees aware of the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev. He said that the first Patshahi Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, by declaring 'neither Hindu, nor Muslim', inspired people to rise above religious orthodoxies and adopt the true religion. On this occasion, the residents of the city enjoyed the Kirtan. In the end, while talking, the members of the committee said that "Man makes many efforts to attain happiness, but does not make any effort to get rid of sorrow." "Kuh Nanak suni re man, Hari bhavai so hoi" meaning: Man makes many efforts to attain his happiness, and does not make any effort to get rid of sorrow. Satguru Nanak says, O mind, whatever pleases God, happens. On this occasion, president Sham Singh, secretary Harpreet Bedi, treasurer Jasveer Kaur, Bhupinder Singh, Anurag Bedi, Gurpreet Singh (Gopi), Gurpreet Singh (Sonu), Jaskaran Singh, Shivam Bedi, Prince Bedi, Satnam Singh and all the members were present.
