SAS Nagar, January 28 – People are very upset due to the ever increasing number of beggars in the city and its surrounding areas in recent times. In this regard, social worker Tejinder Singh said that beggars keep begging from people in the city's markets, traffic lights and other public places. Due to which not only people have to face inconvenience, but the image of the city can also be tarnished due to these beggars.
He said that the situation is even worse at the traffic lights of the city, where migrant women beg with their 4-5 year old children and these small children keep running in between the vehicles, due to which an accident can happen anytime. He said that the other day a child begging for food narrowly escaped being hit by his car and when he stopped the car and asked the begging woman that if any accident happens to this child, then who will be responsible for it, then she said, if he is hit by a car, then the owner of the car will bear the cost of his treatment.
He has demanded from the Deputy Commissioner and SSP of the district that these beggars should be controlled and effective steps should be taken to solve this problem by establishing coordination between the police and the administration so that the city residents can get relief from this problem.
