Garhshankar - As per the directions of Surendra Lamba IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur; cracking down on anti-social elements, under the able supervision of Sarabjit Singh Bahia PPS, Captain Police, Investigation Hoshiarpur, Jaspreet Singh PPS, Deputy Captain Police Sub Division Garhshankar; by Chief Officer Police Station Garhshankar; Various teams were formed for the arrest of wanted accused Manpreet Singh alias Mani son Balveer Singh, Gursukhtiar Singh alias Sukha son Jagtar Singh resident Moranwali, Police Station Garhshankar and Gursharan Singh son Sukhjinder Singh Mohalla Tungal Gate Banga, Police Station City Banga, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh on 09 November at Police Station Garhshankar.
While investigating which, the said teams with the help of intelligence and technical sources have achieved great success in immediately arresting 05 out of 11 alleged accused wanted in the said case. Senior Police Captain IPS Surendra Lamba told during the press conference that the alleged accused Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi is running a drug de-addiction center in village Moranwali. 25 October- On 24 October, a quarrel broke out between the two when deceased Manpreet Singh used wrong words about Gurpreet Singh's de-addiction centre.
Both the parties were called as per the MLR of Manpreet Singh at Garhshankar police station. While no talks could be held between the two parties, time was taken for mutual compromise by the important persons who accompanied both the parties. However, the complaint regarding the MLR of deceased Manpreet Singh was lodged in BNS. Under this rivalry, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi along with his associates killed Manpreet Singh and his 02 friends.
Police officials said that in this regard Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi son of Daljit Singh resident of Moranwali, police station Garhshankar, Daljit Singh son of Darshan Singh resident of Moranwali, police station Garhshankar. Baljinder Singh alias Billa son of Surinder Singh resident of Moranwali, police station Garhshankar. Inderjit Singh alias Indu Bhalwan son of Jaswant Singh resident of Padi Sura Singh, police station Mahilpur. Five alleged accused including Deepakpreet Singh Deepak son of Sarwan Singh resident of Khuwashpur, police station Goindwal Sahib, district Tarn Taran were arrested. He said that the search for the remaining alleged accused is on.
