Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 4: The District Health Department has once again appealed to the people to protect themselves from dengue fever. Acting Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Singh and Epidemiologist Dr. Harmandeep Kaur said that the dengue fever season is going on these days. Due to which everyone needs to be more vigilant. He said that mosquito prevention measures should be taken in the houses and clothes should be worn to cover the whole body. He also said that there is no need to panic if dengue fever develops due to any reason. The patient should be brought to the nearest government health institution where the dengue test and treatment is absolutely free.
Health officials said that usually during all types of fever, the blood platelets in the body decrease. Goat milk, kiwi fruit or coconut water are not particularly helpful in increasing platelets. The patient should consume any kind of liquids like water, juice, lemon water, coconut water etc. as much as possible and rest. At least two liters of water should be consumed daily, which is also beneficial for a normal healthy person.
Fluids do not allow the body to lose water, but also provide essential nutrients to the body. Health officials said that the teams of the district health department are fully committed to protect people from this disease and prevent its spread. These teams have been doing house-to-house survey work continuously since January And people should cooperate with the health department by taking precautions themselves. For information, you can contact the helpline number 104 of the health department.

Common symptoms of dengue include severe headache and high fever, muscle and joint pain, pain in the back of the eye, bleeding from the nose, mouth and gums when the condition worsens, nausea and vomiting. Dengue-carrying mosquitoes breed in standing water such as coolers, water tanks, flower pots, trays behind refrigerators, broken/discarded utensils and flat tires and water drums.
