Una March 14: A special campaign is being run to tackle the problem of malnutrition among children in Una district, under which malnourished children will be identified from different places of the district and they will be provided relief from this problem. He informed that through CSIR-Himalayan Biotechnology Institute, Palampur, it will purchase products containing nutritional elements prepared for children and provide them to all the malnourished children and BPL lactating women of the district. On priority, the difference in children in the first three months will be analyzed, on the basis of which it will be extended for further six months. Data will be prepared by taking feedback about the improvement in the health of children through Anganwadi workers and Asha workers working in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that in view of the economic condition and lifestyle of the people of Una district, the number of malnourished children is not more in comparison to other districts. He directed the Child Development Protection Officer to identify the malnourished children and lactating women of BPL families in the entire district through Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers and submit a complete field report before March 31 so that on this basis the future action plan for purchasing the products can be made. Can be prepared. He asked the officials of the institute to give priority to millets products in child nutritional diet.
He directed to prepare an action plan for the successful implementation of this campaign by organizing a workshop with CSIR-Himalayan Biotechnology Institute, Palampur and all the CDPOs and Block Development Officers of the district.
In the meeting, District Program Officer ICDS Narendra Kumar, Dr. Richa Kalia, CDPO Una Kuldeep Dayal, Rupesh Kumar of Dhundhula and Vijay Kumar of Amb, Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Principal Scientist from CSIR-Himalayan Biotechnology Institute, Palampur, Senior Scientist Dr. Vidyashankar Srivatsan were present in the meeting. And officials from various departments including Dr. Sukhjinder Singh participated.
